PROFESSOR DR.
ED SOBEY
Professor Dr.
Ed Sobey develops hands-on, inventing activities that help people learn
science. He gives workshops on “inventing to learn” to teachers, museum staff,
and the public throughout US, in Europe and Asia. Ed has directed 5 museums
including the National Inventors Hall of Frame and has published seventeen
books. He holds a Ph.D in oceanography and has participated in scientific
expeditions throughout the world. Ed is a fellow in the Explorers club and
chairs the Pacific Northwest Chapter. While on the faculty of California State
University, Fresno, he teamed with

and hosted a kids television series on inventing, The Idea Factory. Ed also
founded the National Toy Hall of Fame which is now part of the Strong Museum in
Rochester, New York.
PROFESSOR DR. TIMOTHY M. STEARNS
Professor Dr.
Timothy M. Stearns is the Coleman Foundation Chair in Entrepreneurial Studies
and Director of the Lyles Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at
California State University, Fresno. Professor Stearns received his PhD in
management /sociology from Indiana University. He previously was a member of
the Management faculty at the University of Wisconsin, Madison and Marquette
University. Professor Dr. Stearns has co-authored a textbook and is the author of
more than 75 research articles and presentations. He has taught and lectured on
entrepreneurship and innovation to students and executives in Thailand, Poland,
Japan, Kazakhstan, Macau, and the Peoples Republic of China. He is President of
the Central Valley Business Incubator and is co-founder of the National Network
for Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialization

DR. LIM CHENG HWA
Dr
Lim is the current Chairman of The Chartered Institute of Marketing,
Singapore. He sits on the Academic Advisory Committee for CIM
(UK) covering Asia-Pacific Region for the last 5 years. Dr Lim
was a Certified Program Leader with the world renowned Louis Allen
Associates and has delivered at numerous conferences and seminars.
Dr. Lim completed his Ph.D. in Marketing with University of
Strathclyde focusing on the area of technological innovation.
Academically, Dr. Lim has also lectured, tutored and supervised a
range of students from bachelor degree to doctoral candidates with
Curtin University of Technology (Australia), University of Western
Sydney (Nepean, Australia), as well as University of New South Wales
(Australia). He has conducted numerous seminars and workshops in
the expert areas of Creativity, Innovation and Marketing.
JAMES CHUA
James Chua, the founder of Harriet Educational Group had been in the
educational industry for several years. A Certified Public
Accountant by profession, Mr Chua is a fellow member of several
internationally recognized professional institutions such as Institute
of Certified Public Accountant of Singapore (ICPAS), Chartered
Institute of Marketing, UK, American Academy of Financial Management,
and Association of Business Executives, United Kingdom. Mr Chua
graduated from the National University of Singapore, with a Bachelor
Degree in Accountancy. Mr Chua had played many important
financial roles in many multinational companies such as
Pricewaterhouse Coopers and Haw Par Brothers International Ltd before
he moved on to the Educational Industry. Through his leadership
and with great business sense equipped with his Masters of Business
Administration, majoring in International Business, Harriet
Educational Group had expanded rapidly in short few years and now has
3 private institutions approved and registered with the Singapore
Ministry of Education.
